    1. Hi,

      In the late 80s, a private company minted medallions and produced Philatelic Numismatic Covers. In this case, instead of coins, medallions were used. There are Penang Bridge, Thomas Cup, PATA with 14 states and Commonwealth Games were the most common.

      Today, due to the novelty of it, there is a resurgence in interest.

I have a commonwealth 1989 heads of Government KL meeting medallic FDC that I can’t find any info anywhere especially on the composition (material) of the gold QEII Medallic that come with FDC. I would appreciate if u could shade some lights! If ok, I can send u photo of it!

        The gold is just a thin foil hardly worth its weight. The composition is usually in the accompanying card. I will not be able to analyse. As I mentioned, it is just a novelty item.
