30 August 1965: Kuala Lumpur International Airport

Here are FDCs which were cancelled at the airport itself! These are two of the rare cancellation covers that I managed to come across.

This FDC was sent via normal mail and cancelled with the Lapangan Terbang C1 cancellation.

This FDC was sent via normal mail and cancelled with the Lapangan Terbang C2 cancellation.

Both cancellations are slightly different. Here is the comparison of C1 and C2 cancellations:

This FDC was cancelled in Jesselton. This is a very rare FDC as a complete set is considered very expensive.

15 November 1965: State Definitive Series

It just so happened that I found a complementing FDC for the State Definitives Series cancelled in Jesselton.

Here is a FDC cancelled in a Travelling Post Office Malacca which is pretty unique.

14 December 1965: 3rd SEAP Games

The 3rd SEAP Games was held in Kuala Lumpur, thus the cover carries the Kuala Lumpur cancellation.

Here is a FDC cancelled with the SEAP Games Village KL cachet in addition to the Kuala Lumpur cancellation.

  1. hya, i have a fdc malaysia 1965 sampul surat hari pertama with postmark kuala lumpur, can u tell me if its worth anything thanx

    1. Hi Paula, yes it is definitely worth something. Which FDC issue is that? “Sampul Surat Hari Pertama” means “First Day Cover”. The market value will also be determined by the condition of the cover as well as the scarcity. If you send me a picture (front and back), I will give you an estimate of the fair market value.
