Tracing the Roots of the Rubber Industry in Malaysia

It has been a century since Rubber Research started in Malaysia. Most fondly remember Rubber Research Institute (RRI) or RRIM (M being Malaya and later Malaysia). Today it operates under the Malaysia Rubber Board (Lembaga Getah Malaysia).

The day started with getting the seeds to cover the route.

There was excitement and fun in the air as the next inspection brings us back to the early root of Rubber Research Institute Malaya in Sungai Buloh….

It was time back for the next inspection… the current home of Malaysia Rubber Board (Lembaga Getah Malaysia).

The building exterior and interior was decorated for the centennial celebrations!

Having received the seal, the next inspection was at the KLCC station!

Seems quite a number made their way here.

And now… for the grand celebration!

Dato Lat actually had a surprise appearance this morning! It was a big miss!

Guess who is the celebrity we met???

Pos Malaysia’s booth saw very heavy demand and there was a stock replenishment as the folder sets and all the commemorative stamp products were sold out.

After new seeds were planted, new growth appeared!

It was then time for the autograph session with Dato’ Dr Zairossani Mohd Nor, Director General of the Malaysia Rubber Board.

Check out the video of the Pos Malaysia Booth and the autograph session:

The then traced back the Rubber Research Building along Jalan Ampang and what better seal than…

Thus the inspection of the event was concluded in the Klang Valley. There is a little surprise at the back courtesy of LGM.

My appreciation to J’s burning rubber for the day as well as 2 yet to be named companion of the inspections! Learned new ink too!

Tomorrow the event is still in Hall 1, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, you might win a Motorcycle too!

Parking is about RM 3 per hour. Going by LRT Laluan Kelana Jaya KJ Line is the best option.
