Date of issue changed: Primates again

Here is a preliminary information which means that it can change anytime, as usual, until the date of issue! I think you are used to this rule since it has been like this for the past number of years (I lost count…).

The next issue is supposed to be the Primates (Series 2 I think….) to coincide with the Year of the Monkey. The final title of the issue has not been officially released. It is planned on 25 January 2016. This time the special effect RM 6 miniature sheet will most likely not be sold out! WHY???? Read on…

Apparently there will be a RM 3 and RM 6 Miniature Sheet. Luckily we are not having an RM 15 MS like this year!

Anyway, the RM 3 Miniature Sheet will ONLY be available to Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) holders. It will be sold as a pair with the RM 6 Miniature Sheet. Thus if you are not a SODA account holder, do open an account, as I have mentioned time a number of times in this blog. Even some die hard resistance group went to open SODA accounts on 28 December 2015 as the news trickled out through as we queued for our train.

Thus imagine stacks of a pair of MS being ordered via SODA. The local demand will then dwindle for the RM 6 as the balance of the counter sales will then be taken up by resellers to overseas collectors of “special effect” Miniature Sheets which is not large by any comparison to the local demand. SODA holders are not able to order “only” the RM 3 Miniature Sheets! Thus much of the demand for RM 6 will be absorbed into SODA orders.

Special effect? What special effect??? Patience is the order of the day. The information will be made available when it is available, when it is on the social media or when it is allowed to be available.

Most collectors in Malaysia are still predominantly FDC in nature and they like to make their own FDCs. Thus in order to secure RM 3 MS, collectors will then need to order the pair of MS and the pair of MS FDC!

Here is another advice, check your SODA balance! RM 3 + RM 6 makes RM 9 before GST! The FDCs adds up to another RM 10 before GST. Total per set of MS and MS FDC will be RM 19 before GST! There is then there are the stamps, stamps on FDC and if you collect folders….empty folder. Quite a hefty bill for this issue.

When should you take action??? I think up to your speed and urgency.

I end with a reminder that this is an advance information and subjected to changes as is customary. Keep this in mind if suddenly the RM 3 MS is released on the day of issue or if the issue date is changed!
