29 – 31 March 2019: Fournation Stamp Exhibition Kuala Lumpur

29 – 31 March 2019: Fournation Stamp Exhibition Kuala Lumpur

Finally, I received the confirmation from Pos Malaysia that the Fournation Stamp Exhibition will be held in Kuala Lumpur in the Kuala Lumpur General Post Office.

The event will be held in the Main Lobby (Stamp Dealers), Stamp Gallery of the Philatelic Bureau Headquarters (Pos Malaysia sales) and Dewan Sri Pos (Stamp Exhibition).

The event will be held from 29 – 31 March 2019 from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm.

There will be a special Overprint Miniature Sheet (details will be released later) on 29 March 2019. Heard some loud buzz today from many parties that 30 March might see something too. Hmmm… the suspense if building.

PSM is also making the envelopes for the event.

For those who are keen to take part, contact: filateli@pos.com.my.

Homework: Prepare your Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia stamps! There has been a buzz that a fifth country was invited! Hmmm…

Anyway, I have not received any news of those who confirmed attendance. Perhaps if any of our foreign readers from Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia who might know something can provide the information?

See you there!

28 November 2018: ETS MS Overprint for Thailand World Stamp Exhibition 2018

Pos Malaysia will be represented by Philatelic Society of Malaysia (PSM) for the World Stamp Exhibiton in Bangkok, Thailand. The event is held in Royal Paragon Hall 1 – 3 in downtown Bangkok. It runs from 28 November 2018 until 03 December 2018. Thailand Post is providing an exhibition cachet and daily cancellations. These are the current image available and subjected to changes.

Pos Malaysia is expected to have the exhibition cachet to complement the Exhibition Overprint MS of the ETS issue.

PSM will be selling their own envelope. There is also a proposal to pre-sell the envelope during the Stamp Week 2018. Why not drop by and have a look during Stamp Week at the PSM booth?

Here is the image with the consent to share by PSM (copyright holder of the envelope design).

The overprint MS is also expected to be on sale by the International House of Stamps in the exhibition hall.

While Pos Malaysia has not provided information on the order forms for SODA, it has been a trend that Pos Malaysia offers the overprints AFTER the exhibitions.

Updated 12 November 2018:

Philatelic Society of Malaysia was selling the blank envelopes at RM 2.00 each at the Stamp Week 2018 in their counter in the Kuala Lumpur General Post Office.

Updated: Four-Nation Stamp Exhibition Thailand 2017

Updated: Four-Nation Stamp Exhibition Thailand 2017

I suppose some of you are wondering what will Pos Malaysia issue tomorrow for the Four-Nation Stamp Exhibition in EmQuartier in Bangkok. Well, Pos Malaysia will issue a Setemku (Personalised Stamp) using the Melaka Four-Nation stamp images on the Setemku interspersed with the Four-Nation logo. Curious? It will come out on the web. There will also be a cachet for the occasion. From what I understand, PSM will be handling the cachet during the event. An independent verification could not be done as I am a bit caught up.

If you are keen to buy the Setemku, it should be open for SODA order form later on. Pos Malaysia has indicated that order forms will be released. Exhibition Covers? I am not sure if PSM will make any exhibition cover like in the past. Just wait a bit and you will know.

Back to the host….

The host, Thailand, will issue the Year of the Rooster stamps with the Four-Nation logo in 4 different colours. A total of 250 sets (i.e. 250 of each colour x 4 colours = 1,000 pieces of stamps) are printed. News reports stated that each set retails at 2,000 Baht.

The Philatelic Association of Thailand has reserved 100 sets for their members. 50 sets each are supposed to be made available for Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore philatelic associations. Only those sets not taken up will be sold to the public. This gave me a bit of a mathematical challenge… (3 x 50) + 100 = 250 sets…. does that mean that there will be little or none for the public? Does set refer to sets in sheets or sets of single stamps? Again I am unable to verify independently.

This is a design image (not the actual issued sheetlets). If this is the final design, then in effect there are only 4 desirable stamps with the Four-Nation logo tabs.
