The latest news is that the issue will be sold at the Kuala Lumpur General Post Office Philatelic Bureau (and now all GPOs nationwide) on 02 September 2014. It will then be released nationwide on 08 September 2014. Whether this pushes through, you will need to check out tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile, the image has been seen but not released. It is confirmed to be a 60 sen stamp.
Meanwhile, today’s Independence Week exhibition in KL Sentral was made up oh KKMM units. Pos Malaysia sold the Setemku. There was no ready made Setemku which was a disappointment.
Selamat Hari Merdeka to our Malaysian readers!
Updated 31 August 2014:
Merdeka! Yes it is just past midnight and here is the image of the single stamp.
It was launched tonight at MaTIC (Malaysia Tourism Centre) in Jalan Ampang by the Honourable Prime Minister. The blank first day cover features the original 1957 stamp! There will also be a postcard with the same image – good for maxiphilately.
See you all on 02 September 2014 at GPOs around the country!
Updated 02 September 2014:
The crowd was light today. There was some confusion as to the dates. When the counters opened, the folders have not arrived. The postcard was too glossy, thus to make a maxicard, you really need to wait a long time for the ink to dry.

Happy Hari Merdeka !!!
No Blank Fdc image yet ? The stamp size same like 50 years Malaysia 3.0cm x 5.1cm ?
Size should be the same as the 50 Years Malaysia stamp. I do not have the image of the blank cover yet. It is the design of the first Merdeka stamp.
Any special cover at jalan ampang?
It was the same cover (KL cancellation).
