The celebration for the Merdeka (Independence) month started with the release of the Kiriman Merdeka. This was announced on 11 July 2018 by Communications and Multimedia Minister, Gobind Singh Deo.
The Kiriman Merdeka envelope is given free on request with any transaction in the post office and it is recorded in the receipt. In some post offices, it was given out on request. The postage is free up to 50 grammes.
Just write the recipient’s address (and your address on the back) and drop inside the post box. Posting is free from 01 – 31 August 2018. This is stated on the back of the envelope.
