Here is another heads up for date collectors, there will be a “minor” palindrome date coming up on 08 November 2018. This is different than a actual palindrome (08.10.2018) as an actual palindrome when written in full and abridged versions will still stand as palindrome: 8102018 (full) and 81018 (abridged).
The minor palindrome only works on an abridged date i.e. 81118 and not 8112018. Thus the hunt is to find the post office with abridged postmarking. Fortunately the current small metal circular cancellers are all using the abridged date. Just register your letter with an additional stamp and post it out on 08.11.2018.
