Previous issues of the Malaysian Festivals were on 15 August 2006 and 27 September 2012.
This time the Malaysian Festival Series 3 ties in with the Lunar (Chinese) New Year celebrations. This series features the Malaysian festivals of the ethnic Chinese, Kadazan Dusun, Dayak, Malay and Indian.
The stamps and miniature sheets feature the following:
- Stamps: 5 designs x 60 sen with the following designs:
- Chinese New Year (Lion Dance and Firecrackers),
- Tadau Kaamatan (Sumazau Dance and Gong and Sompoton),
- Gawai Festival (Ngajat Dance and Ranyai)
- Hari Raya Aidil Fitri (Lemang and Dodol)
- Deepavali (Kuthu Vilakku and Kolam)
- Miniature Sheet: RM 5.00 (Various festival greetings) with die cut and glitter ink
