It was an extremely slow day today. Most regulars turned up. However the numbers were low.
One of the cancellations in Kuala Lumpur had a jagged edge rather than a smooth oval. Take a look:
The designer was not able to attend. He will be coming over in the next issue (World Post Day) to autograph the products. That should be 09 October 2017.
Today is another rare day without any setenants being sold. In its place, the Bandung Malaysia Serama was on sale. The response was again very slow. I believe the collectors have reached purchasing fatigue.
A Special Order form for the Straits Settlements issue was also released.
A set of Melaka cancellation FDC, Penang cancellation FDC and Straits Settlements Setenant retails at RM 12.50.
The Singapore FDC is sold at RM 25.00. Take note that the Singapore FDC image shown on the order form was an early design. The postmark has since changed. Here is the design circulating on the web for quite sometime:
The final cancellation has the word “150th” in the shape of the old postmark. Here is an actual personalised Singapore FDC with the actual cancellations.
The prices shown are before GST.
Feel free to download the form, fill in and fax in the order. It is for Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) members only.
Hardly had the excitement settled down, the next issue will be coming out on 14 September 2017 with the title Negaraku. The stamps featured the winning drawings from the Negaraku Art Competition organised by the National Art Gallery which was held in schools nationwide.
The products are:

The above prices are before GST.
Happy Malaysia Day!
Rise and Shine!
The start of the day saw the regulars at the queue. Many that came actually went for the setenant sheets rather than the SEA Games. Today saw the release of the 100 Years of Girl Guiding and Calligraphy setenant sheets. In addition, the Malaysian Serama setenant sheet made a comeback!
Each person may purchase 5 of each type of setenant sheet. As such it was possible for everyone to obtain the sheets. The Girl Guides were quickly sold out by 10 am. The Calligraphy was sold out later in the morning leave 2 sheets of Malaysia Serama at noon.
The SEA Games counter moved rather fast this morning. The counters were already serving number 37 by 09:00 am which is a record!
The designer, Mr Hazwan Shahiran bin Rashid arrived at about 10:00 am. The autograph queue was quite long.
Many collectors printed their own envelopes and maxicards. There were too many designs to go through and each design was carefully thought out.
In addition, the long awaited National Day and Malaysia Day Setem Ku was also released today. This issue was postponed from 15 August to 18 August and finally released on 21 August.
The design is contemporary and just in time to spread the national spirit of Negaraku. Each Setem Ku retails at RM21.20 before GST.
By late evening, it was off to Seri Petaling Post Office which is also a Philatelic Bureau Branch. It is located inside Endah Parade and is within walking distance to the National Stadium.
There was no special booth at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. Thus the nearest was Seri Petaling. Here is the final result.
The logo, Negaraku, is prominently on the envelope.
By late evening, the Kuala Lumpur 2017 Wau Bulan stamp sheets were all sold out, leaving the other 3 Rimaus on the loose!
