Some philatelists are also part time numismatist. As such some of you might be interested to know that some gold commemorative coins can still be obtained at face value in the Bank Negara Museum and Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
The latest 75th Anniversary of Taman Negara (National Park) set of 3 and single gold remains in stock! The set of 3 comes with very low serial numbers (2 digit). Staff of the Museum Shop were surprised that this issue was not so “hot” as other issues.
The 80th Anniversary of the Angkatan Tentera Malaysia gold coin is still available.
In addition, the 50 Years Malaysia single silver is also available.
However, speculation on coin cards and set of 2s remains high as these are more affordable to the general public.
What do you think are the reasons for the lack of interest in the gold coins?

It was due to high quantity of the coins compare to few years ago and also the outdated design and technology. If you compare to other country, you can see it clearly. Another thing is the unstable gold price also contribute to this issue.
