Today’s media preview was a special occasion with the attendance of Yang Berhormat Dato’ Jailani Johari, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia. The briefing area was packed to the brim.
The Honourable Deputy Minister was then invited to officiate the stamp issue. He was accompanied by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Azlan Shahrim, Group Chief Operating Officer, Postal and Courier and En. Mohamed Zaidi Abdul Karim, Head of Section, Postal and e-Commerce.
The stamp issue will be on sale on Monday, 21 August 2017. The special pictorial postmark will still be 19 August 2017, the official date of the start of the SEA Games 2017. There will not be any special booth in the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Thus there will be no sale of stamps on 19 August 2017.
The following are the products:
1. 60 sen stamp sheets of 10 pieces per stamp sheet. A total of 200,000 pieces of stamps (or 20,000 stamp sheets) are printed per design. There are 4 designs featuring:
(a) Official Mascot: Rimau
(b) Official Logo with the theme: Rising Together (Bangkit Bersama)
(c) Torch Run (Larian Obor)
(d) Badminton
2. Empty envelopes of 50 sen each with 32,000 pieces issued.
3. Empty folders of RM 6.00 each with 1,800 pieces issued.
