I suppose some of you are wondering what will Pos Malaysia issue tomorrow for the Four-Nation Stamp Exhibition in EmQuartier in Bangkok. Well, Pos Malaysia will issue a Setemku (Personalised Stamp) using the Melaka Four-Nation stamp images on the Setemku interspersed with the Four-Nation logo. Curious? It will come out on the web. There will also be a cachet for the occasion. From what I understand, PSM will be handling the cachet during the event. An independent verification could not be done as I am a bit caught up.
If you are keen to buy the Setemku, it should be open for SODA order form later on. Pos Malaysia has indicated that order forms will be released. Exhibition Covers? I am not sure if PSM will make any exhibition cover like in the past. Just wait a bit and you will know.
Back to the host….
The host, Thailand, will issue the Year of the Rooster stamps with the Four-Nation logo in 4 different colours. A total of 250 sets (i.e. 250 of each colour x 4 colours = 1,000 pieces of stamps) are printed. News reports stated that each set retails at 2,000 Baht.
The Philatelic Association of Thailand has reserved 100 sets for their members. 50 sets each are supposed to be made available for Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore philatelic associations. Only those sets not taken up will be sold to the public. This gave me a bit of a mathematical challenge… (3 x 50) + 100 = 250 sets…. does that mean that there will be little or none for the public? Does set refer to sets in sheets or sets of single stamps? Again I am unable to verify independently.
This is a design image (not the actual issued sheetlets). If this is the final design, then in effect there are only 4 desirable stamps with the Four-Nation logo tabs.
